Cozumel coastline

Cozumel, México — One of the world's most stunning islands, offering natural beauty that quietly invites the heart to open toward genuine healing.

Sanctuary's Florida location has served families for years with the same clinical excellence and authentic faith community. Our Cozumel location brings that same proven model to the shores of the Caribbean — offering something no institutional environment can replicate. This is your Sanctuary by the sea.

A Natural Reset

Geographic separation from familiar environments and triggers is one of the most evidence-backed factors in lasting recovery. Cozumel creates that distance beautifully.

Faith in Community, Not Just Chapel

You don't just get a chaplain on staff. You get an authentic Christian community that walks through healing together — staff and residents alike, every single day.

The Sanctuary Difference

While many programs touch on faith, Sanctuary recognizes that lasting transformation happens in the presence of God — and that clinical excellence is what makes that transformation last.

01
Specialty

Whole-Person Care

We treat the full picture — mind, body, and spirit — including complex, co-occurring conditions that other programs struggle to address well.

02
Clinical

Evidence-Based Treatment

Our credentialed clinical team uses proven, research-backed methods — not cookie-cutter programs, but individualized treatment built around each person's story.

03
Faith

Genuine Christian Community

Not a token chaplain. Not Bible study tacked onto a secular program. A real, living Christian community — staff who believe, residents who grow, worship that's authentic.

04
Both/And

Clinical + Spiritual, Simultaneously

We believe lasting healing requires both evidence-based clinical care and deep faith integration. You don't have to choose between excellent medicine and genuine faith.

05
Cost

Accessible Excellence

High-quality care shouldn't require a second mortgage. Our Cozumel location offers world-class residential treatment at approximately ⅔ the cost of comparable US programs.

06

An Island That Heals

Stunning natural beauty, clean air, and a pace of life simply not replicable in institutional settings. Cozumel isn't a bonus — it's part of the treatment plan.

This was built for people
like you.

Sanctuary Clinics Cozumel may be the right call if any of these describe your situation:

Faith isn't an add-on.
It's the center.

Many programs offer faith as an elective. At Sanctuary, we believe lasting transformation happens in the presence of God — so faith isn't added to our clinical model, it's woven through every part of it. Our doctors, clinicians, and staff share life and faith together with residents in genuine Christian community.

"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."
Psalm 147:3

In Cozumel, you'll be welcomed into this community as family — surrounded by island breezes, ocean views, and people who are genuinely invested in your healing. This is what makes Sanctuary different. Not just what we do, but how we live.

"The staff really cared about me, and several of the staff members personally checked in with me on a regular basis to mentor, encourage, and pray for me. They went above and beyond in showing the love of Christ to me. I appreciated the added element of prayer, scripture, biblical teachings and Christian guest speakers to work alongside traditional mental health treatment."

"I came to Sanctuary after being in several rehab programs over the years. They have a great relapse prevention program here which is working out great for me! It's all about how our brain works and it's amazing to recognize the signals that point toward relapse and nip it in the bud early on. I haven't relapsed and I'm living my best life!"

You're not the first to wonder this.

Is it safe to receive treatment outside the US?
Absolutely. Sanctuary Clinics Cozumel maintains the same clinical standards as our Florida flagship — credentialed clinical team, evidence-based protocols, and 24/7 supervised residential care. The island setting is a feature of our program, not a compromise. Cozumel is safe, stable, and well-connected, and our staff is present around the clock.
What if my loved one refuses to get help?
This is one of the most common situations we encounter. Our care team is experienced at coaching families through these conversations. We also offer a pre-admission call with the person seeking treatment — not a sales call, but a genuine conversation designed to build trust before they ever step on a plane. Many families are surprised by how effective this is.
Do you treat cannabis-induced psychosis?
Yes, and it is one of our clinical specialties. As cannabis use has increased — and potency has risen — so has the incidence of psychosis, particularly among young adults. Our clinical team has deep experience with this condition and the complex co-occurring factors that often accompany it.
How do I stay connected with my loved one during treatment?
Family connection is a core part of the Sanctuary model, not an afterthought. You will have regular scheduled calls, access to your care guide David, and family session opportunities throughout the program. We believe the healing journey includes healing family relationships — you are part of this process, not separated from it.
What if I'm not strongly religious?
We welcome anyone who is open to faith as part of healing — you don't need to be a committed Christian to benefit from our model. Many people arrive skeptical of the faith component and leave deeply grateful for it. We are not a church, and we never force spiritual content. What we offer is an authentic community where faith is lived naturally, not performed.
